Justice for Girls is going to court on May 28th, 29th, and 30th to challenge the broken environmental assessment process that approved the controversial Woodfibre LNG project. This case focuses on the substituted assessment model that allowed the federal government to
delegate its environmental review responsibilities to the Province of British Columbia.Woodfibre LNG was only the second project to undergo this process — and it failed to meet the necessary standards to protect people and the planet.
Justice for Girls and My Sea to Sky filed for a judicial review immediately after the federal government approved a massive floating workcamp (or “floatel”) for Woodfibre LNG in November 2023.
