About Us

We advocate for human rights and justice for girls. We work to address the unique barriers teenage girls face at the intersections of homelessness, poverty, violence, and other forms of systemic oppression to advance girl’s equality.

Justice For Girls has had Special Consultative Status with ECOSOC since 2009

Who is Justice for Girls?

Justice for Girls (JFG) was formed in 1999, in response to local, national, and international calls for “girl only” programs and services that acknowledge and address the specific needs and vulnerabilities of girls, particularly in relation to homelessness, poverty, and violence.

We locate our work within the overall project of women’s equality. We believe eliminating violence and poverty in girl’s lives is essential to achieving equality. Recognizing and addressing the intersecting/interlocking forms of oppression that teenage girls face is fundamental to our work toward ending violence against girls.

Justice for Girls has had Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 2009.
